When Cars Meet Haute Couture
Luxury British carmaker Rolls-Royce has unveiled a special edition of their high-end Wraith coupé that takes inspiration from the world of haute couture. ‘Wraith – Inspired by Fashion’ gives a modern makeover to classic monochrome with strong colour contrasts, ultra-luxe fabrics and couture-inspired detailing.
The car is finished in a two-tone exterior colour scheme of Andalucian White and Arctic White with an accent colour of Jasmine, Tailored Purple or Mugello Red, hand-applied along the shoulder line of the car.
Inside, the Wraith’s classic Arctic White and Black interior colour scheme is complemented by a careful and tasteful addition of the accent colour to interior details like the steering wheel and door pockets, which are specially lined with fine silk for a luxury feel.
Rolls-Royce has embellished the interior using techniques more commonly applied in the fashion world. A seamless stitch, a highly complex tailoring technique, is applied to the steering wheel, and welting is used to fit a colourful silk strip along the Wraith’s signature leather door-panels.
Just like a piece of jewellery, a special clock sits in the middle of the dash, styled exclusively for ‘Wraith – Inspired by Fashion’ to emit a silky, pearl effect.
How best to launch this spectacular, bespoke Wraith? With a stunning and provocative photoshoot on the Rolls-Royce production line of course!
