Tried & Tested: Gelish Cinderella Collection
I wanted to be the one to tell you this, I had Gelish applied on my nails this week, and I am not even that sorry. Yes, the biggest decision of my week so far was whether to get Shellac or Gelish nails – first world problems or what?
Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but when it comes to selecting nail varnish it’s the equivalent of Sophie’s choice for me! The following runs through my head:
1. What have I got on event wise?
2. What do I plan on wearing? Will that colour go with those outfits?
3. What did I have last time? Colour? Sparkle? Matte? One finger decoration!?
4. Rapid checking of Instagram for divine inspiration…
There’s also the added pressure of my boyfriend’s nieces giving them the seal of approval. That matters just as much, if not more, than that of any of the adults in my life! Those girls are cut-throat.
So, off I trotted into 53 Main Street to have my nails done by Michele. Michele is a Creative Academy educator and also plays nail technician to most of Ireland’s celebs, so I knew I was in good hands.
The salon is lovely, and you’re made to feel very relaxed, mainly thanks to Michele’s cheery personality. Michele helped me to select my colour and my man hands were transformed in less than 45 minutes. I opted for ‘’Party at the Palace’’ after having some reds and darks, it was time for some pastel and glitter and this was perfect for my pending trip to Barcelona.
Aren’t they gel-icious?
There’s another bonus to this salon, they are right next door to the Lash Lounge and within 53 Main Street where you also have Waxworx and Michelle Montgomery makeup, so it’s essentially a beauty pit-stop for us ladies on the go.
Dundrum Main Street is fast becoming a boulevard of beauty. You can check out Michele Burke Nails on Facebook and at micheleburkenails.ie. Oh, and I already have my magpie eyes on ‘’Live Like There’s No Midnight’’, a lovely deep blue.
