Most women aren’t cut out for camping – the lack of plug sockets and warm showers doesn’t always entice us. This is why glamourous camping was invented, other wise known as Glamping! It’s perfect for a girly weekend away, for a hen or birthday and is a great alternative to the usual hotel break, and also much cheaper! The facilities at Irelands glamping villages are all you need for a break away; lovely warm stoves, plug sockets, hot showers, proper loos and wonderfully quaint dining areas for you to sip on your tea from pretty fine china. Here’s a round up of some of the best Glamping Ireland has to offer:

Teapot Lane – Co. Leitrim

Described as one of the prettiest Glamping experiences in Ireland, Teapot Lane features a vintage caravan, a tree house, a thatched cottage and yurts for you to stay in. You can swing in their hammocks with a book, visit the on-site spa or avail of the nearby activities on the Donegal coast. Cook up a storm in their Cath Kidston-esk kitchen or spend the evening by the outdoor camp fire – what more could you want!

Kinsale Glamping – Co. Cork

This is the perfect combination of Glamping and a trip to the sea side. The yurt is propped only a few metres above the sea and within short walking distance of the pretty town of Kinsale. Wouldn’t that be a lovely view to wake up to.

Boutique Camping – Co. West Meath

Nestled on 100 acres of parkland in the surroundings of Mount Druid, this quaint little village has every thing for the perfect girly experience. Accommodation comprises of cosy yurts, Sherpherd huts and self catering cottages with an abundance of activities to keep you entertained – a sauna, meditation hut, and gym are just to name a few!

Pod Umna Village – Co. Galway

For those of you who prefer a little more structure to your camping accommodation, visit the Pod Umna Village in South East Galway for a slice of cabin living. There’s lots of great outdoor activities in the area and you can return to your nice warm pod for a glass of vino on the deck.

Ballyvolane House – Co. Cork

An abundance of 4 and 5 metre bell tents scatter across the grounds of Ballyvolane House in the historic region of the Munster Blackwater Valley. They have recently added a ‘Glamping Arc’ and a ‘Father Ted’ style caravan to the mix – all of which are cosy and comfortable. Afternoon tea is served in the main house and they even put a hot water bottle in your bed during the evening turn down service – bliss.
