We love when good weather hits town, but there’s nothing more depressing than to be staring out the office window longing for that Vitamin D to be on your skin. This is why, with that precious hour break you get, you run to the nearest lunch spot that catches the rays. If you’re not the sandwich-in-the-park type of gal, then here’s 5 places in town to dine al-fresco at lunch.

1. Taste Food Co, South William Street

Located at the top of South William Street, this casual dining restaurant offers an extensive lunch menu with salads, sandwiches and heartier meals alike. They put out extra dining on the street on those really warm days so can cater to many wanting to bask in the sun.

2. The Bailey, Grafton Street

As well as being a great watering hole, The Bailey just off Grafton Street do a lovely al-fresco lunch too. They have the usual sandwiches and salads but also offer a lovely selection of tapas options for something different.

3. The Cake Cafe, Camden Street

This delightful little cafe can be found at the back of Daintree paper shop on Camden Street. Their courtyard area is sheltered from the wind and their wholesome and healthy offerings are to die for. You also can’t leave without trying their cake, that’s an order.

Image // Liakada

4. Coppinger Row, Coppinger Row

One of our favourite spots to lunch is Coppinger Row just off South William Street, both for the al-fresco dining and for their infamous meatball sandwich. The crab & crayfish dish is pretty amazing too.

5. Balfes, The Westbury

Parisian flair with New York sophistication is what encapsulates Balfes just off Grafton Street. Their monochrome-styled patio at the front is the perfect spot to enjoy one of their delicious lunch offerings.
