Styling Your Home With Etsy.com
As part of their #EtsyIrl campaign, the lovely people over at Etsy gifted me a voucher to spend on their gorgeous website and of course I went nuts over the homeware. Etsy is an online marketplace of sellers from around the globe, selling beautifully crafted, handmade and unique items that you would struggle to find on your local high street. Here’s a few of the things I bought and how I styled them.
These log placemats are from an Irish seller called Dalias Woodland and came in a set of 8 for €25. They’re a lovely alternative to modern placemats and add a really nice touch to a table setting. I used gold cutlery alongside them to give that perfect mix between rustic and sophisticated.
The next thing I bought was a sheepskin rug to make my Eames-style rocking chair more cosy. I love the Scandinavian look and this allowed me to create a perfect little reading nook in my living room. You can buy the sheepskin rug here; it’s genuine Icelandic sheepskin and was €90 (it’s so soft!)
My bedside situation needed a revamp, so I bought a new rug, lamp and side table from the site. A rug makes such a difference to the warmth of a room; I love these Swedish rag rugs for an easy-to-clean, little softness under the foot. The table came flat packed so I just had to glue the legs in, this was only €53!
The lamp is handmade from a seller in Bulgaria and was €62. It came with an energy efficient lightbulb too and there’s adjustable pegs so you can stand it any which way. This is something you definitely wouldn’t find in Ikea.
I couldn’t recommend Etsy more for finding great treasures, whether it’s for your home, a birthday present or baby clothes – they have something for everyone! If there are any other items in the pictures above that you would like to know where to purchase, just tweet us or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
