Makers & Brothers & Others Are Back
‘The tiny department store’ is the tagline of Dublin’s newest lifestyle pop up shop Makers & Brothers & Others. It’s jam packed with tons of homegrown products from ceramics to crystalware, and features designers such as Mourne Textiles and SCP which are exclusive to Makers & Brothers in Ireland. We popped into the shop and spoke with Susannah from the M&B Team to get a little more scoop on this beautifully curated store.
‘The finest woollen weaves for the home by third generation weavers Mourne Textiles, exceptional crafts people with a marvellousmodern aesthetic set up by Gerd Hay-Edie in 1954. Passed throughout the generations from daughter Karen to grandson Mario filtering through the archives and reviving the renowned weaves for lasting furnishings.’

‘Following a much-acclaimed Milan début, we are proud to be launching J Hill’s Standard in Ireland. Emerging from an almost decimated industry in Waterford. J Hill’s is a fresh modern cut crystal company working with some of the most interesting designers in the world. They produced luxury objects for everyday use, finished using centuries-old skills. This is an exclusive launch to Makers & Brothers in Ireland.’

His progressive approach to design and production is what we enjoy and is what has brought forth some wonderful furniture and homewares of restraint and refinement, a range of which will be available in store. Since 1985 SCP has continued to develop new products each year, employing the rich talents of designers that include Terence Woodgate, Konstantin Grcic, Michael Marriott, Tom Dixon and Donna Wilson. This is exclusive to Makers & Brothers in Ireland.’
