How To Get Rid Of Heat Rash
With the weather heating up and imminent holidays on the horizon, it’s important to be aware of all of the effects of being in the sun and exposed to humidity. One of these effects is getting a heat rash, something that is very common but might freak you out a little if it appears on your body. Fear not, it’s completely harmless in adults but do be more vigilant with babies and children if you see it appearing.
Heat rash looks like little red pimples and is when your sweat ducks become blocked and swell, which leads to the redness and sometimes itchiness on the skin. It’s more commonly found where the skin is covered by clothes thus causing you to sweat more in those areas.
Steps to follow to get rid of the rash are:
1. Move to a cool shaded area to help your body temperature come down (if possible take a cool shower but use no gels or creams).
2. Let the sweat or water on your body air dry instead of using a towel.
3. Don’t use any ointments or creams for 24 hours as this can irritate the skin more.
4. It could take minutes or hours for the heat rash to go so just keep an eye on it.
