Hotspot: Dawson Street – Dublin
Dawson Street has always been known for it’s hub of activity and upmarket bars and it never fails to disappoint in the ever changing social scene. Here we’ve listed our favourite places to eat and drink on one of Dublins best known streets.
Known as one of the best spots to go out on Dawson St, it’s kitsch interiors, delicious cocktails and equally good food makes this a great place for a boozy brunch or dancing until the early hours of a Saturday night.
2. Sams Bar
After it’s re-birth last year, it’s wall to wall with people at the weekend dancing to it’s great music. It feels more like a nightclub than a bar so don’t be expecting a quiet drink!
This Italian chain never fails to disappoint for it’s seriously good Italian grub (we can’t resist the Arancini every time!) The good news is they’re opening another in Glasthule!
This venue doesn’t jump out at you as you walk down Dawson St which is exactly what’s great about it. It’s like a speak easy because once you’re in, you’ve been transported to a forgotten era. Not only is it good for a cocktail but having dinner upstairs on the red velvet and gold tasseled chairs makes the experience even better.

If you’re looking for a grand setting to enjoy a good meal then Fire is for you. The service is great, as is the food – it’s perfect for large groups too.
6. Lemon Cafe
All we can say is mm mmmm. They serve more yummy crepe combos than you can struggle to choose. The coffee’s good too!
This infamous little (and we mean little) pub on Dawson St is perfect for a great pint of Guinness in a very intimate setting. Don’t go with a gang though as you’ll be like sardines!
