A Reflection On Christmas
Sadly Christmas has come to an end (tear), and what a wonderful one it was. For me, Christmas is about reconnecting with people, spending time with loved ones and and enjoying the festive buzz and twinkle of romance in the air. I love everything about that time of year; the decorations, the cosy fires, the gift giving (and wrapping them too) – providing I get it right of course!
This year I headed down to my Mum’s house in Castlebar in the beautiful West of Ireland. My family and I explored Westport and Castlebar for some fresh air and scenic views which were captured beautifully by my brother and photographer PJ Rankin.
We lunched in The Towers Bar at The Quay in Westport which had stunning views of Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay. My family live on Clare Island so we waved to them from here!
A lovely stroll around Lough Lannagh in Castlebar was just what was needed to walk off some Christmas calories.
Westport House was one of the places we visited along our little drive and it was well worth the stop. It’s a lovely place to go for a stroll and there was something a little more dramatic about it on a cold Winters day.
So that’s it for Christmas and onto a new year with new memories. Thank you to everyone who made 2014 such a great one!
