7 Things To Do In Dublin When You’re Broke

January can be a tight month, and if payday seems just that bit too far away but you’re bored of staying in and watching movies at the weekend, check out some of the cheap or free things to entertain yourself around Dublin.

1. Unlimited cinema card

Buy an Unlimited card from Cineworld for €21.40 a month and watch as many movies as you want plus get discount on treats! That would sort your plans for every Friday and Saturday night in a month of little money!

2. Pheonix Park Bike Hire

Rent a bike for €5 and cycle around Pheonix Park for a few hours. Get some fresh air in your lungs, a bit of exercise done and spot the resident deers to top off your day.

3. Market Bar early bird

For a cheap but delicious eat, head down to the Market Bar on Fade Street and get 2 tapas and a glass of wine for €14.

4. Glendalough

Ok, so this is technically Wicklow but it’s in driving distance, and there’s nothing nicer than a country walk – plus it’s free!

5. Educate yourself

There are plenty of museums and galleries in the city that have free entry – Irish Museum of Modern Art, Natural History Museum which houses the Archeology museum also, and the National Art Gallery.

6. The Leprechaun Museum

Yep, we’re serious. This delightful little museum on Middle Abbey Street is a treasure trove of mythology and craic. It’s only €12 to go in and it’s well worth it to sit on giant chairs and feel tiny.
