5 Tips To Keep Your Suntan For Longer

You’re just back from holiday, you’re showing off your tan and then bam, you feel as white as rice. We know, it sucks. But there are ways of prolonging your tan by doing certain things on holiday and when you get home. Take note of these 6 tips when you’re next away in the sun.

1. Avoid hot showers and baths

If your skin is dehydrated then it can lead to peeling, so instead bathe in cooler water and use a moisturising shower cream to make that tan stick.

2. Moisturise a-plenty

You should moisturise every time you’re out of the shower. Use a body butter to really lock in that tan and keep your skin hydrated.

3. Exfoliate

Most people think that by exfoliating you’re just scrubbing away your glow, but that’s not the case. The more you exfoliate, the less you will peel and that is what makes you loose your tan the quickest. Use a mitt or an exfoliant in the shower and remove all of the dull and dehydrated skin cells.

4. Eat your beta-carotenes 

Enhance your glow by adding more beta-carotenes to your diet. This natural source can be found in sweet potatoes, carrots, apricots and mangoes.

5. Hydrate

Drinking lots of water keeps your cells healthy and happy, and this will in turn keep your nicely tanned skin cells last longer.
