5 Great Places for Afternoon Tea

One of the nicest things to do with your girlfriends is Afternoon Tea – trust us! Ireland has an amazing selection of places to have it so there’s no shortage or places to try. It doesn’t always have to be just about tea though, having a few glasses of champagne alongside your heavenly cakes is a must! Here’s a round up of our favourites:

The Westbury Hotel, Dublin

Set amongst the hustle and bustle of our capital city is a wonderful escape just off Grafton Street where you can sit, drink tea, eat a lot of cake, and watch the world go by. The room is cosy and inviting which is perfect when they allow you to relax and sip away on your tea for hours. To top it all off, they give you a box of Westbury signed Butlers chocolates to take home. Our kind of place. €42 or €48 with champagne.

The Cliff House Hotel, Waterford

Afternoon tea with a sea view has to be one of the nicest ways to do it. Set on the rugged cliffs of Ardmore Bay, this amazing setting offers so much more than tea in it’s surroundings. The menu is delightful too.  Why not finish it off with a trip to their spa – it would be rude not to. €30 or €35 with Prosecco.

Powerscourt Hotel, Wicklow

One of our favourite places to have Afternoon Tea, the Powercourt Hotel sits at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains and offers quite a beautiful view. The Georgian decorated room has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere – perfect for unwinding. The highlight is when they bring out a dessert trolly for you to view and pick your own scrumptious treats, and it’s very hard choosing!

The G Hotel, Galway

We’re voting the G Hotel as one of the most girly places to have tea, and we love it! Just outside the city, this pink, gold and sparkly haven is perfect for you and your girlfriends to get together. The menu is delicious and you have the option of adding on pink champagne or a cocktail, which is a definite must! Prices start at €26.
