3 Pore Filler Primers You Need To Try

Primers and pore fillers are the beauty must haves for flawless foundation. They not only keep your foundation on for longer, but they also mattify oily skin to avoid that dreaded shiny face. You can get them in a clear form or with a subtle skin tone through it – all of which make for a great base product.

If you have slightly larger pores on your cheeks and around your nose, then a filler will be your saviour. It evens out your skin for much smoother looking foundation. It’s also great if you’re prone to breakouts or have scars from acne. 1

Here’s 3 different brands that we’ve tried and loved – give them a go and find your favourite!

1. Maybelline New York Baby Skin Pore Eraser // Boots €11.49

This product is cost-effective and it works – result. You should always apply a primer 5 minutes before your foundation to let it absorb into your skin first or else your foundation won’t sit right, and the same applies to this product. You only need a pea size drop which goes a long way.

2. Benefit POREfessional Primer // Debenhams Ireland €34

The light and creamy texture of this primer just glides onto your skin. It’s got a slight skin tone colouring to it which helps with the mattifing. It’s also great just to wear on it’s own when your skin is feeling good – definitely one to pack in your holiday kit!

3. MAC Prep + Prime Skin Smoother // Brown Thomas €31

If you have scaring from acne, or other scars on your face, then you need this in your make up bag. It creates an invisible layer over the part you want to cover, which essentially blurs the marked area – it’s almost like a new little layer of skin!
